We also provide mental health services for children and adolescents at the secure care and protection facility in South Auckland. The Regional Youth Forensic Service (RYFS) provides consultation, assessments, Court ordered reports, Court based Liaison Services, and short focused interventions for young offenders presenting to the youth justice system with mental health issues. We also provide mental health services for adolescent residents at the secure youth justice facility in South Auckland. You will contribute to the delivery of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, allowing you to thrive professionally in providing your clinical expertise and knowledge to most areas of young people's mental health. CALS/RYFS has a strong commitment to collaboration between young person, family, staff, and other services. Opportunities exist for interagency liaison, training, and to contribute to ongoing service development. The CALS/RYFS team is based at the Kari Centre (CAMHS) on Greenlane Clinical Centre campus, and covers the wider Auckland region. This position is full time, working 40 hours per week. Our Regional Service is the largest Alcohol and Drug Service in New Zealand, covering the greater Auckland area from Te Hana in the north to Mercer in the south, servicing a population of 1.4 million. Total patient caseload at any time is around 3,400. Annually 12,000 people will contact the service for a range of AOD services. CADS employ 200 staff, including five Psychiatrists, eight Medical Officers and two Registrars. CADS provides community based AOD advice/information, assessment and counselling services, inpatient and community based detoxification and methadone programmes, youth specialist programmes, dual diagnosis services, community training and community out reach programmes. The services are provided free and confidential from eight locations and several local clinics. CADS operate in close partnership with WDHB AOD services for Maori and Pacific peoples. An Anatomical Pathologist position is available at LabPlus, the Laboratory for the Auckland District Health Board (ADHB). You will be working with a team of Anatomical Pathologists (twelve full-time equivalents) who provide a comprehensive surgical pathology and Cytopathology service. You will be expected to participate in routine anatomical pathology duties as well as an after hours roster to cover a subspecialty area. ADHB provides acute and tertiary clinical services for the population of central Auckland, a tertiary referral service for the greater Auckland region, and a national transplant service. ADHB has a strong linkage with the University of Auckland Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, and all our hospitals are teaching hospitals. There are up to seven anatomical pathology registrars attached to the department and the laboratory is approved for training for the FRCPA. You must be eligible for registration with the New Zealand Medical Council and have a higher qualification as a Specialist Pathologist such as FRCPA or equivalent. The terms of employment are according to the Senior Medical and Dental Officers Multi Employer Collective Agreement with the New Zealand District Health Boards.

Liaison Psychiatry provides specialist advice and consultation to services and teams within Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre and Rehab Plus for people with concurrent physical and mental health needs. The service also provides assessment, advice and consultation to the Emergency Department at Auckland City Hospital. Liaison Psychiatry is a fast paced service delivered by a cohesive team of experienced Consultant Psychiatrists, Nurse Specialists and a Clinical Psychologist and is under the governance of the ADHB Mental Health Service. We have an opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist with a postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry eligible for registration with the New Zealand Medical Council as a Specialist. FRANZCP is essential with at least two years post graduate practice in a relevant setting. You will provide a specialist psychiatric assessment and consultation service to service users in Auckland City Hospital, which includes involvement in urgent and planned assessments, planning and delivering care and treatment to those service users, in the context of their family/whanau. Palmerston North is a university city of 80,000 people located centrally in the lower North Island of New Zealand – ½ hour from the coast, 11/2 hours from the ski fields, 2 hours from wine growing regions and the capital city Wellington.
Palmerston North Hospital is a 300 bed secondary hospital which services the MidCentral District Health Board region with a population of 166,000. It is a teaching hospital and is associated with the Otago Medical School.
Regional Cancer Treatment Service covers a wider area including Hawkes Bay, Gisborne and Taranaki with a total population of over 560,000. The Regional Service includes Medical Oncology Radiation Oncology and Haematology.
The five Radiation Oncologists are seeking a sixth radiation oncologist to join their team. The department requires the applicant to work as a general Radiation Oncologist although there is the potential to develop an area of subspecialty cancer interest.
The department has 3 Siemens multi-modality linear accelerators with MLC, EPI, cone beam and respiratory gating capability; a CT simulator; a superficial x-ray unit and approval for replacement of a fourth linear accelerator. The department currently uses a CMS Xio planning system. We are a reference site for Siemens and we have a well established and accredited IMRT programme.
The department is well supported with registrars in training posts, specialist nursing staff, a palliative care team and a psycho-oncology service. There is a strong culture of multidisciplinary meetings and an active clinical trials portfolio, particularly with the Trans Tasman Radiation Oncology Group.
Applicants must be eligible for registration and recognition as a Radiation Oncologist with the Medical Council of New Zealand, as well as having demonstrated clinical, management and teaching skills and the ability to work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cardiologist to participate in the continuing expansion of our multi-disciplinary Cardiology Service as well as the Community Cardiology initiative.
Palmerston North Hospital has a six-bed Coronary Care Unit and dedicated attached cardiac ward. There are facilities for exercise ECG’s, ambulatory monitoring, echocardiography (including TOE), diagnostic cardiac angiography, and the insertion and follow-up of permanent pacemakers. There is a well established heart failure service as well as hospital-based cardiac rehabilitation.
Responsibilities will include participation in the newly established Community Cardiology programme which will provide specialist cardiologist and nursing support to outlying areas of the MidCentral District Health Board region.
Applicants must be eligible for vocational registration in Internal Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand, as well as having demonstrated clinical, management and teaching skills and the ability to work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team.

The O&G surgeons work a 1:4 on call roster and are supported by a Medical Officer, Registrar and House Officer. A local general practitioner provides part-time out of hours cover to support a 1:4 on-call roster for the resident doctors. Together these 4 staff provide acute cover in support of the specialists. You will have responsibility for some in-patient and community clinics and an interest in teaching and supervising junior medical staff is desirable.
Taranaki Base Hospital is the regional specialist centre, has 215 beds and is located in New Plymouth, the major city of the beautiful Taranaki Province. The maternity arm of our hospital comprises a 6 bed delivery suite with 4 adjoining antenatal beds, as well as 14 post-natal beds. Located at Hawera Hospital is a 4 bed primary care maternity unit and there is also a privately run primary care facility in Stratford for delivery and post natal care.
