| Job Description | Senior Clinical Leadership Opportunities at Auckland District Health Board Auckland District Health Board is realigning the senior leadership team to meet the opportunities and challenges of the future. Since 2004 we have been developing our organisation based on clinical management partnerships. Our realignment process is the next step to further strengthen executive clinical leadership accountability for both operational and professional governance performance with responsibility for the whole health system, including accountability for patient care through the continuum while living within our means. Enhanced clinical leadership, creation of Healthcare Service Groups (HSG’s) and the introduction of a Healthcare Excellence Framework will all contribute to a challenging and highly rewarding environment with genuine career opportunities and the ability to have a very real impact on further improving health outcomes for the community. The successful candidates will enjoy working in a supportive, positive and collaborative shared operational accountability partnership model with senior colleagues. Auckland District Health Board (ADHB) has a total annual revenue of approximately $1.6b and is one of the largest quality health providers in New Zealand offering a wide range of clinical services. ADHB is the leading teaching and clinical research DHB in NZ plus the largest elective surgery provider. These new positions will play a key leadership role within their respective Healthcare Service Groups (HSG’s) A focus on providing enhanced clinical/professional leadership, strategy development, service and quality improvement and innovation within a financially viable service framework is a core requirement in all positions. Medical Director – Adult HSG (0.4 FTE) – position no. 027146 Director – Women’s HSG (0.4 FTE) - position no. 027152 Director – Cancer & Blood HSG (0.25 FTE) - position no. 027153 Director – Cardiovascular HSG (0.25 FTE) - position no. 027154 Please note the clinical leadership fte stated above will be additional to any clinical duty fte agreed. Key criteria for success in all of these positions, includes: Commitment to driving performance improvement within a Healthcare Excellence Framework Exemplary leadership skills. You will possess strong interpersonal skills, be astute politically and above all have the ability to engender enduring and trusting relationships with key stakeholders.
